One killed, two injured in boat-jet ski collision near Forster

A woman has died and a child has been injured after a crash between a boat and jet ski south of Forster.

A boat and a jet ski collided on the Nerong Inlet at Nerong, south of Forster, about 5.30pm Friday.

An woman, who was on the jet ski, died at the scene. Her age is not yet known.

An eight-year-old boy, also on the jet ski, received spinal injuries and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital for treatment. He is in a stable condition.

The skipper of the boat, a male aged 46, also was flown to John Hunter Hospital.

His injuries are not known at this stage, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.

A child on board the boat was uninjured.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner while Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command detectives have begun an investigation.
