AJSBA SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

SATURDAY 3rd NOVEMBER 2007

Agenda

-          Enrol more committee members onto the AJSBA committee

-          Discuss tenders for National Titles

-          Discuss classes for the Nationals

-          Hydro Space and Honda affiliation

AJSBA Committee

It has been found that the race committee which was discussed at the AGM is actually a breach to the constitution and there for has now been abandoned.  Instead at least one new committee member, up to six, needs to be elected.

Nominations for the new members to the committee were: -

Dan Fox
James Kavanagh

Gerald Eddy

Ross Mitchell
James Curran

All nominations were accepted and all are now members of the AJSBA committee.

VENDOR AFFILIATION

Invoices have now been sent to Yamaha, Kawasaki and Seadoo.

Hydro Space and Honda have both agreed to pay the affiliation fee.  Need to finalise address details.

This year each Manufacturer will be informed of every sanctioned event being held in Australia with the option of taking the advantage of using the closed waters for demonstrations and displays.  Two banners to be supplied by the manufacturers will be displayed at each major event.

NATIONAL TITLES

RACE DIRECTOR - AJSBA will decide and confirm– hosting club may nominate

ASSISTANT RACE DIRECTOR – Gerald Eddy has volunteered if required

TECH INSPECTOR – Either or both of the AJSBA Tech Consultants (Jared Martin and James Burger)

SAFETY OFFICER – AJSBA (David Titler)

LAP SCORERS – AJSBA to decide and confirm (hosting club will need to provide support) .

The Scoring used will be the Closed Course System as per IJSBA rule # 17.10.2 / 17.10.10

The following tenders were received: -

World and Australian Surf Titles – JSCB

Australian Flat Water Titles – VJSBA

Both Tenders were accepted.

WORLD AND AUSTRALIAN SURF TITLES – JSCB
Saturday 3rd May 2008 – Kingscliff, NSW (30min South of Tweed Heads)The event includes the World Moto Surf Titles.4wd access to the beach.  It has also been requested the JSCB provide a 4wd to help assist riders and family carry items onto the beach.There will be no junior riders racing in the surf titles.Classes as set by AJSBA. See proposal supplied by JSCB for World Moto-Surf classes.Entry Fees refer proposal as supplied by JSCB.

AJSBA contribution $6000.

AUSTALIAN FLAT WATER TITLES – VJSBA

End of March / Early April – Date to be confirmed

Caribbean Gardens, Melbourne.

Details to be confirmed.

GENERAL – NATIONAL TITLES

All riders will need to sign off on the rules of racing prior to competing in the event.

Amateur Open Riders will need to fill in their details and submit it for approval to the AJSBA committee before being aloud to race.

All entry forms must be in at least 30 days prior to the event. Late fee may be charged.

Points from each race of the National Surf Titles and the National Flat Water Titles will be combined to determine the Australian Champions.

Start positions for the first four motos at National Flat Water Titles will be pre determined by a computer generated random number. Start position for fifth motos will be drawn by peg on the start line.

The overall champion trophies will be supplied by the AJSBA.

NATIONAL RACE CLASSES

Note: All classes must consist of a minimum of 5 riders with the exemption of the juniors and pro-lites which only require 3.

The PRO Ski class is still to be determined.  Riders in this class have the opportunity to vote wether to stay a limited class or become an open ski class.  A committee representative from each club is to get signed documentation from each rider with their vote.

AM SKI 800 LITES

PRO SKI 800 LITES  - May be ran with the AM class with separate points depending on Numbers

PRO/AM SPORT MODIFIED

PRO/AM RUNABOUT STOCK – Will separate if there is the numbers

RUNABOUT STOCK OUT OF THE BOX

AM RUNABOUT OPEN – Riders to be approved by AJSBA (Safety)

PRO RUNABOUT OPEN

PRO/AM WOMENS SKI

AM SKI LIMITED

VTERAN RUNABOUT OPEN  - Must be over 35

PRO/AM WOMENS RUNABOUT

JUNIOR SKI 800 LITES

JUNIOR SKI LIMITED – to be eligible for this class, the junior rider must adhere to the following conditions (MANDATORY) :-          have at least one full season experience-          be classified by the AJSBA to be an ‘Elite Junior’ (all juniors must apply to AJSBA)-          must also compete in the Junior Ski Lites class at the same event (no excuses)

Junior riders will be heavily policed.  Dangerous riding will not be tolerated and will be black flagged at the discretion of the race director.

GENERAL
Race numbers that have been allocated to persons with elapsed membership (i.e. membership renewal has not been paid within 30 days of expiry) will be re-allocated to other members as required.Race numbers 11 through 20 may now be allocated to members and will not be reserved for national title position holders 11 through 20
