Here are the minutes from the annual AGM held on 15th July 2007 on the Gold Coast. Please note that since the AGM the executive has decided to increase the annual race licence fee to $250.  MEETING OPENED

3. Treasurer’s Report - Tracy Nelson

• Bank balance as at last statement is approx $15,500.

• Un-audited Profit & Loss + Balance Sheet provided

• Few points to mention and questions asked as below:-

• $19,100 income from Gravity Games was the amount left from the $50,000 allocated by the organizer (they subtracted accommodation and food etc) and then left for us to disburse as prize money etc.
• Affiliation Fee – is paid to IJSBA each year
• Scott Frasier – Did we need to bring him out – his experience and contacts as President of the IJSBA are good exposure for us.
• Income - $15,000 – the “commercial affiliation” fee from three manufacturers.

• All the book work etc is on the laptop in Quickbooks for the new committee to continue with.
      
4. Insurance Report 

Liability Insurance Renewal has been received.

We also have Directors and Officers Liability.

5. Elections

All positions were declared vacant and Ross chaired the elections.

Dan Fox thanked Ross and Susan for the last year.

6. General Business

John and Roy took over the meeting

RACE COMMITTEE

• Race Committee – is to be derived of one representative from each club and that person has a vote at race committee meetings.

• Each club has 2 weeks to select\elect a National Race committee representative to advise what the overall majority in their local scene wants.

• The executive has the right to change\cancel decisions made if illegal or detrimental to the sport.

• The first Race Committee meeting will be held shortly.

AUSSIE TITLES

• The Titles will be per tender.  Any club or commercial group can tender for either event.

• Race committee will decide on the majority of items relating to Aussie Titles.

• The point structure and class structure are typically decided at the AGM so should be discussed today.  These are very important and should be announced ASAP.

• Each club will be given 2-3 months to tender.

• 15th September 2007 ALL TENDERS TO BE IN – ELECTRONIC FORM

• The Executive and Race Committee will urgently compile and provide a guidelines\criteria asap.

• PRO Riders must have competed in at least 2 events at state level prior to entering to race at the Titles unless exemptions provided by Executive

• AMT Riders have to do a minimum of 4 events at state level.

• No first timers are allowed to race at the Titles.

• Possible that the club running the event to keep some of the profit made.

• The points from the flatwater titles and surf titles WILL BE COMBINED for an overall position.

• There will be 8 motos combined – 5 flatwater and 3 surf

• Flatwater titles – possibility of just running AMT on the Saturday and PRO  Sunday with invitation to winning AMTS to race Sunday as PRO.

• Pro level riders are to be acknowledged more ie. Advertising etc.  We should increase the importance of the pro level racing.

• Drag Racing – to be decided by race committee
 
WOMEN AND JUNIOR LICENSES

• To be half of the yet to be decided annual fee

DAY LICENSES

• There is now a maximum of 3 day licenses allowed per calendar year.

• Nationals and large events require full licenses

SOCIAL LICENSES

• New license to be introduced

• $50 per year for social members – have voting rights but no racing

LICENSE CLASSIFICATIONS

• Executive has to keep track and approve those wanting to move up from AMT to PRO.

FULL LICENSE

• Each club is to request a full list of its members prior to each race to have on hand

• Each club has to enforce the physical viewing of each license.  Each club can enforce this as they wish ie. $10 fine for not having license on them

• If you don’t have a current license you are not covered under the insurance.

• Yearly Fee – Pending review by the executive – possible increase to $250

• The $10 per person for racing and $5 per person for social insurance fee has been removed.

JUNIOR RACING

• Juniors are required to only race with other juniors, they are NOT to be raced with adults

JUNIOR CLASS

• Juniors will run as “LITES” to promote safety, good relations with government bodies and to promote cheaper closer racing whilst they are in the early stages of growth.

TRACY NELSON – DONATION

• Tracy Nelson after resigning requested the club donate $1,000 to a Thai Orphanage. 

• This was voted against unanimously.

 

TECH OFFICERS

• James Berger and Jared Martin were nominated to be Tech Officers.

• All tech questions to be directed to one of them via their ajsba email address only.

NATIONAL SAFETY OFFICER

• To be decided and appointed by Executive

PRACTICE\TRAINING DAYS - JSCB

• Tony Grey and others are organizing training days to get new members into the sport.

• He wants to provide monthly sessions free of charge.

• A third sanction type was approved “Training Day” and no fee will be payable to the AJSBA.

• The Race Committee is to do up some guidelines including:-
o Beginners – only 5 on the water at one time
o Experienced Riders – only 10 on the water at one time

COMMERCIAL AFFILIATION

• Affiliation fee to remain at $5,000 for existing affiliates ie. Seadoo, Kawasaki and Yamaha

• Hydrospace and Honda are to pay the same fee to become affiliated.  They can not race until this fee is paid.

• A letter should be prepared and presented by the executive to Honda and Hydrospace inviting them to join.

• All affiliates should be kept more up to date, provide them with newsletters etc.

• Polaris is allowed to continue racing and die a natural death as per the verbal agreement with them.
