SEVEN hours after Sophie Saliou's body was found floating in Lake Illawarra, the love of her life Shane Bohnert's life support was switched off in Wollongong Hospital.

As far as Mr Bohnert's family is concerned, however, the pair died in each other's arms after tumbling from their jet ski on Wednesday afternoon.

"We can't believe they're gone. This has just been a nightmare for the whole family," Mr Bohnert's sister Alison said yesterday.

"We just want to say farewell to both of them. We're going to miss them both so much, may they both rest in peace."

Ms Bohnert was with her 29-year-old brother and Ms Saliou, 38, just minutes before the tragic accident.
