Then who can afford the chance that some goose will T bone your ski and write it off in the first turn ! Not to mention fuel prices, Jetski racing is only for rich boys from Qld these days. The game was up when Bob Carr banned PWC's from Sydney harbour, and jacked up the rego and licence fees all because a certain group of people wont respect authority. I still love my jetskiing and I did spend 15k on a second hand seadoo two seasons ago and raced the Newcastle Enduro event only to finish second last. Majority of people don’t want to spend 25k and upwards on a ski just to go racing and not even get to the front. I can spend 2k on a go kart and race it in a controlled race environment and still have that racing feeling against karts that are all equal. My last go kart race had 22 entrants in it and further more that was for just one class. Total entrants for the day were 75. Back in the AWPA hey day entrants were massive because I believe like go karting you spend a couple of grand on a ski and go racing.
