Lake Macquarie PWC races exclusion zone this Sunday
NSW Maritime has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to the NSWPWC for a section of Lake Macquarie, at Cams Wharf this Sunday, 23 October for the NSWPWC Enduro.
NSW Maritime Regional Manager Hunter/ Inland Sonia McKay said boaters should avoid the area of Cams Wharf, Lake Macquarie between 10am and 4.30pm from the shoreline at Rafferty’s Resort for a distance of approximately 1000 metres out and 200 metres wide, which will be marked with inflatable buoys.
“This section of the lake will be used specifically for the safe operation of the Personal Water Craft (PWC) races,” Ms McKay said.
“Control vessels will monitor the event area and advise boaters not to enter for safety reasons.”
Ms McKay said unauthorised vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by event organisers, a NSW Maritime Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
