AJSBA National Tour Rd 3 report and results

The Queensland round of the AJSBA National Jetsports Tour was held on March 29 and 30 at Bells Beach, Redcliffe with smooth conditions for the Enduro Motos on Saturday finishing with Guy Greenland onboard the Watson Racing RXP-X taking the days honours in the Premier Pro-Am Open Runabout class.  Second was Brisbane Kawasaki’s Christian D’Agostin 2nd and TWT Concretes first year racer Brenden Boyd in 3rd position.

The Pro-Am Stock runabout class was cramed full with a large field of riders once again Christian D’Agostin lead the points standings for the day followed by the new kids on the block Mitchell Wyatt and Frank Waite.

Sundays dark clouds threatened to dampen spirits but the stoic watercross racers rose to the challenge under testing conditions and ever lowering tidal waters.

Stand-up Ski numbers were down and with some mechanical gremlins striking key riders and the guys all agreed to reduce motos to 3. Joel Barry won the points followed by Xman and Jake Barker.
Lites Ski was won by Michael Tisdale who edged his way ahead of Michael Stevens and first time junior rider James-Dean Millar. Watch out for this kid in the future.

The Closed course Pro-Am Stock runabout field was big with some great racing witnessed, Dennis Mack onboard the Gold Coast Waverunner FZR was unstoppable taking line honours for the day ahead of multiple Australian Pro-Stock Runabout Champion Shane Stuart with mr consistency Kawasaki’s Christian D’Agostin in 3rd position.

Pro Open Runabout was dominated by multiple Australian Champion, Jet Ski Warehouse’s Ant Antees with 3 moto wins, but it wasn’t to be Ants day with a dislodged electrical cable causing a last place finish in moto 4 narrowly losing op Honors to Guy Greenland by a mere 2 points with James Masterton a close 3rd.

Top effort by Guy Greenland for his tireless efforts in promoting and coordinating the majority of proceedings as well as racing.

A huge thanks to Jordan Ross and Gold Coast Waverunners for the Aquatic event permit at this prestigious location.

The Guys that set the track and equipment up on Friday, great job, Simon Le Comte team, excellent work, Amanda and Morgan for the scoring.

It’s fantastic seeing the teamwork involved bringing Watercross Racing back in Queensland and hopefully the new rumoured QLD Super Jetcross Series is announced shortly.

We hope to see as many riders as possible weekend of May 17th at St George Sailing Club, further announcements and information to follow
